What We Do

Over the last decade, we have led efforts to support the players and coaches of Wellesley Raiders Baseball. From minor equipment repairs to major capital improvements - we’re here to help.

Our Mission

Enable Wellesley High School baseball to be the premier and most competitive public MIAA D1 baseball program in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. To do this, we must:

  1. Invest in player development and family retention - with focus on creating an integrated pipeline of talent and experience from Wellesley Little League through WMS baseball into the freshman, JV and Varsity teams of WHS baseball.

  2. Inspire excellence by enhancing the prestige of the Sprague game-day experience for players, coaches and spectators - Sprague is a symbol of the strength of Wellesley Baseball overall that is visible both for members of the Wellesley community and for visitors.

  3. Create a supportive community of Wellesley baseball families, players and alumni - who work together to help our players and coaches excel to the very best of their potential - on the field, and in life.

The amazing work from our Diamond Club has helped transform our baseball program propelling us into new heights.  Whether it's renovating our field, acquiring equipment, or outfitting our players and coaches with apparel, the Diamond Club supports our high school athletes to ensure the greatest experience.  With their help, Wellesley baseball is prepared to compete at the highest level now and for years to come.  Thank you to everyone involved and to those who support the Diamond Club!

What We’ve Achieved

  • We raised nearly $19,000 for the 2025 installation of a safer, more professional outfield home run fence

  • We contributed $2,000 for emergency field repairs prior to the 2025 season

  • We worked closely with the Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works to go out to bid for a professional, comprehensive 2025 infield renovation - this renovation, priced at over $34,000 was complete in Fall 2025.

  • We worked closely with the School Committee and Playing Fields Task Force to identify barriers that could be overcome to enable further Sprague improvements.

Goals for 2026-2027

  • Over the next two years, we are working to raise $15,000 - $20,000 annually for:

    • the purchase of a solar-powered outfield scoreboard ($11,000 + $15,000 install)

    • the purchase of Wellesley Raiders banners for outfield fencing and backstop

    • the renovation of dugouts to protect players and coaches during inclement weather

    • the enhancement of the spectator experience

    • the relocation and enchancement of on-field storage to maximize versatility
